How to Use Agronet
Agronet
What is Agronet?
Agronet is a farm planning system to help farmers optimize their combinations of crops to maximise profits in the short term. Short term planning means no alterations are made in fixed equipment. However, Agronet also helps select growth pathways based upon changes in fixed equipment, through purchase or rental, land purchase or rental and cash investment to maximise future profits.

How can it be used
In order to maximise the benefit of the use of Agronet, the user needs to first of all:
- determine the level of technology used by a farm
- calculate the cultivable area
- determine the capacity of all operational equipment
- estimate cash availability
It is essential to decide the levels of technology to be used. It is important therefore to review the Crop Data Sheets first of all to decide where a farm's production performance lies. The cultivable area and equipment capacity can be used using the appropriate calculators supplied by Agronet. Also another calculator provides estimates of the areas of land which can be produced at each level of technology for any given level of cash available.
Once this information is collected the user can move on to undertaken short term optimization for the farm.
